NEW ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS AVAILABLE FOR CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW YORK
Scholarships and Financial Assistance Increased for the 2016-2017 Academic Year
Dr. Timothy J. McNiff, Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of New York, is pleased to announce a new online application and increased financial assistance are now available for families applying to Catholic elementary schools for grades K- 8 for September 2016.
The simple, free online application can be found at www.CatholicSchoolsNY.org or by calling 646-794-2885 between 9:00-5:00 pm for assistance. Scholarships and financial assistance for the 2016-2017 school year will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Last year more than 8,000 scholarship/tuition assistance awards averaging $2,100 were distributed across the archdiocese. This year, the archdiocese expects to distribute up to 10,000 awards, based on demand and applications that meet the established criteria.
“Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a parent can make for their children’s future, and with this new streamlined application and additional financial assistance and scholarships we will be able to offer more children a high-quality, life-changing Catholic education,” stated Dr. McNiff
. “Academic success starts in our early childhood programs and continues throughout the elementary and high school grades. We are proud that more than 98% of our high school seniors graduate and 99% of those graduates go on to college or post-secondary education.”
